Dr Amir Ashrafi

Dr Amir Ashrafi (Ashrafizadeh) is a specialist general and gastrointestinal surgeon based in Sydney. He completed his general surgery training at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney and subsequently undertook further fellowships in Gastrointestinal, Hepatobiliary, Peritoneal Surface Oncology and Liver surgery at Hornsby, Royal North Shore and St George Hospitals.

Dr Ashrafi is experienced in a wide range of abdominal surgeries, including minimally invasive surgery for complex abdominal wall and inguinal hernias, gallbladder operations and small and large intestine surgeries, and has a special interest in gastrointestinal surgical oncology. He performs endoscopy (Colonoscopy and Gastroscopy) and is accredited by gastrointestinal society of Australia.

Dr Ashrafi has a keen academic interest and completed a Master of Surgery at the University of Sydney. He has published multiple papers in peer-reviewed journals and presented at Australian and European conferences. He is actively involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students in University of Notre Dame and University of Sydney.

Dr Ashrafi has hospital appointments at the Mater Hospital in North Sydney and Westmead Private Hospital, and performs endoscopy at Pittwater Day Surgery in northern beaches of Sydney.
