Biography
Dr James Kolb completed his medical training in Queensland before undertaking his Fellowship of General Practice in Sydney. He has three years of hospital-based experience, providing him with a strong foundation to manage the wide range of presentations seen in general practice.
Dr Kolb has particular interests in preventative health, chronic disease management, travel medicine, men’s health, and sexual health. He is committed to shared decision-making and works collaboratively with patients, supporting them to take an active role in their health and wellbeing. He places a strong emphasis on healthy lifestyle choices and practical strategies to improve long-term health outcomes.
Throughout his training, Dr Kolb completed hospital rotations across multiple specialties, including paediatrics, geriatrics, renal medicine, orthopaedic surgery, and ENT surgery. He has completed his HIV S100 prescribing accreditation, enabling him to provide care for HIV, PrEP, and PEP. He completed a year of Sexual Health placement at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
He currently sits on the Board of Directors for General Practice Eastern Sydney.
Outside of medicine, Dr Kolb enjoys playing squash and tennis, and spending time at Clovelly or Nielsen Park .
